practicalities

what do I need to be before the session?

There is nothing in particular you need to do or prepare before you come to a session. The most important thing is to be as relaxed and open as possible. But it would be useful to reflect on:

  • what you are hoping to gain from the sessions, short term and longer term
  • what time of day you are most likely to practice and for how long
  • note any areas of known stiffness, weakness or imbalance (could be at level of body, mind, breath etc.)

what to bring/wear to the session?

  • depending on your needs, you do some asana practice during the session. This will mainly be to show techniques rather than doing a full practice. So the main thing is to have some clothes that allow you to move sufficiently freely.
  • if we need to look at your body structure and function, it can be useful though not essential to wear some tighter fitting clothes
  • there will always be the option to change for the session, though in most cases practically this will use some of the session time

where and how much?

how long should I allow for before and after the session?

  • please try to arrive a few minutes before the start time of your session so that you may rest a little
  • depending on the specific venue, it may not be possible to gain access until the session room becomes free. Generally there is a break between each client but this may be reduced at bust times
